YCVBC - Youth Volleyball

Welcome

Mission Statement:

YC Volleyball was created to provide an opportunity for youth in Yamhill, Carlton and surrounding communities, to play volleyball in a safe and healthy environment.  We strive to offer a variety of opportunities for youth to play and develop skills.  Volleyball is available to girl’s grades 3rd-8th and focuses on developing strong volleyball student athletes.  Up to two boys may play on each team for grades 3rd-6th.

 

GOALS FOR YOuth Volleyball:

 

  • to encourage a love of the game
  • to increase players’ knowledge and understanding of individual and team skills and strategies
  • to help players develop positive decision-making responses and behaviors essential for challenges faced both on and off the court

 

School Season: 3rd-6th

 

Players are placed on teams based on their grade level, 3rd-6th,  where we compete against local school districts

  • Practices are during the week, days and times to be determined by coaches at YCES or YCIS
  • Matches (Games) run from Mid-Late September to the end of October
  • Mid season round robin more info after registration
  • Jersey will be provided by YCVBC

School Season: 7th-8th

 

Players are placed on teams based on their grade level, 7th or 8th,  players will be evaluated by coaches to determine "A" and "B" Teams. 

  • A current sports physical must be on file with YCTC 
  • Practices start the first week of school
  • Monday-Friday 3-5:15pm at either YCIS or YCHS.  
  • Matches (games) run from Mid September to the end of October
  • Players are bused to and from competitions
  • End of the Season Tournament, more details to come
  • Parent Meeting tentatively 1st Friday of practice
  • Jersey will be provided by YCVBC

 

Summer Clinic


Designed to teach the basic rules and skills of the game and get everyone warmed up for the season!

  • Clinic runs Monday-Friday usually the 3rd Week in August.
  • A couple of the days are designed for incoming 3rd graders and players in any grade with no experience.
  • A couple other days are for the seasoned players through 8th grade.
  • One day is filled with fun games and competitions.
  • Cost is a flat $25 per player ​​

Coaching/Volunteer Opportunities

YCVBC is always looking for adult volunteers to help by coaching volleyball or assisting a coach. We hope you will consider helping our program by coaching and/or volunteering. If interested please answer "YES" to the coaching questions.
